Hunger stricken Isingiro residents now suffering from diarrhoea

Several areas in Uganda are affected by the prolonged dry spell, among them Isingiro, Lwengo, Rakai, Mityana and Wakiso districts.

The government put the figure of those facing starvation due to poor harvests caused by changes in weather patterns, at seven million.

This could be the worst humanitarian crisis ever to hit the area.

Locals in Isingiro have now resorted to eating bean leaves which has resulted in diarrhea
