A P7 dropout in Ngora district has gained fame in his neighbourhood for making a motorized bicycle.
Simon Peter Asike attached a motor on his old bicycle and now makes heads turn whenever he rides it in his area in Mukura sub-county. The bicycle can travel for over 60km and it has greatly eased Asike’s movements.
Asike says he has no formal education in mechanics but has had a dream of making this motorized bicycle for long time. He has a dream of taking his innovation a step further.
Residents in his area have expressed astonishment at the innovation. Many now want the government to financially support Asike to set up a workshop to help create Jobs for the youth.
