Museveni promises to punish perpetrators of violence in Rwenzori region

President Museveni says the army and police will hunt down all the perpetrators of the violence  in the western district of  Bundibugyo district that has left at least 19 people dead in less than a week.

Addressing locals at Bukisi trading Centre in Ntotoro Subcounty, President Museveni warned the feuding cultural institutions against acting in revenge.

The violence has left communities  divided with the Bakonzo on one hand and the Bamba, Babwisi and Bavonoma on the other.

The rising tensions have however also relegated to the rear the plight of over 10,000 people who have fled from their homes.
