13 people in Tanzania have been confirmed dead while 200 others were injured following yesterday’s earthquake that measured 5.7 on the Richter scale. Scientist’s at the Geological survey said the tremors which battered other countries in the region including Uganda, were too weak to affect structures that met proper standards. Yet in the face of this tragedy, a miracle played out when a 13 old boy in Masaka who had been paralysed, claims to have regained his strength to walk after the Earthquake.  The earthquake whose epicentre was in northern Tanzania spilled over with tremors that hit the East African region. Here in Kampala, people fled buildings when the tremors struck in the afternoon. 13 People in Tanzania have been confirmed dead  while  200 others were injured.In 2007, an Earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale hit Arusha.The department of geological survey and mining in the ministry of energy has issued a statement saying the 5.7 magnitude cannot affect structures which conform to proper standards. Yet in the face of tragedy, a miracle played out in Kitengeesa, a backwater in Buwunga sub county, Masaka district. A 13 old boy Mohammed Kato Nsereko who was reportedly paralysed claims to have regained his strength to walk after the earthquake. His mother, Isha Namugerwa told Ntv that she sought treatment in major hospitals in Masaka, Entebbe and Kampala after the son got paralyzed five months ago. But there was no relief for him.Nsereko a pupil at Hill view primary school also surprised his  teacher Pius Wanyama and the locals who gathered to witness what they claim was an extra-ordinary event.
