Chief Justice Bart Katureebe has asked the police to ensure that the ugly scenes that played out at Makindye Magistrates Court last week when some people stormed the court do not recur on 29th August.
August 29th is the day the Makindye Magistrate's Court is expected to sit again to hear the a case against Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura who did not respect earlier summons to appear before the same court.
Kale Kyihura's supporters had besieged the court on the day the police boss was due to appear and they threatened the prosecution lawyers with violence-an act that the Chief Justice has condemned.
The Chief Justice who was inducting new Grade One Magistrates at the Judicial Studies Institute in Kampala also warned judges against laziness and absenteeism.
