Makerere University students today engaged in running battles with Police as they protested against policies recently introduced by the university administration.

The policies the students were protesting against include, Increased tuition, Removal of meals from the halls of residence, Replacement of government sponsorship with a loan scheme and the Removal of evening lectures in some colleges.
