State minister for Environment Mary Goretti Kitutu applauded these efforts and warned against the community against depleting forests

As a move to restore lost tree cover, over 2000 indigenous trees have been planted on 40 hectares of land in Gangu Central Forest reserve, Butambala district.

The planting is spearheaded by Uganda Breweries Limited and its water for life initiative together with the National Forestry Authority and Rotary Uganda.

State minister for Environment Mary Goretti Kitutu applauded these efforts and warned against the community against depleting forests.

According to the National Forestry Authority, Uganda loses about 100,000 hectares of forest cover every year, a situation that is worsening the effect of climate change.
