Kitutu says the current team of National forestry Authority personnel of eight cannot adequately monitor Mabira forest, which covers an area of up to 300 square kilometers.
The State Minister for Environment, Mary Kitutu, has called for reinforcement from UPDF soldiers in order to effectively protect Mabira forest from illegal logging and encroachment.
Kitutu says the current team of National forestry Authority personnel of eight cannot adequately monitor Mabira forest, which covers an area of up to 300 square kilometers.
The ministry also plans to fast-track the demarcation of all other forest reserves as a remedy to encroachment.
