The East African Community Secretary General Liberat Mfumukeko is under the spot for alleged misappropriation of over 1 million dollars meant for implementation of activities of the East African Community.
According to a report that NTV has seen, Burundi’s Mfumkeko is accused of among other things failing to account for 200,000 dollars approximately 728 million Uganda shillings meant for the Inter Burundi Dialogue contributed by China.
The details of this investigation are contained in a report by permanent secretaries presented to Council of Ministers yesterday in a meeting at Imperial Royale Hotel.
NTV Understands Mfumkeko, who is in the country to attend the ongoing EAC Summit, was summoned to Statehouse on Monday to meet with President Yoweri Museveni who currently chairs the community.
