Statistics from the UNHCR show that more than half a million people fleeing violence and human rights abuses have now found protection and safety in Uganda.
Scores of refugees from neighbouring countries held a procession around Kampala on Friday to thank the Ugandan government for hosting them.
The event dubbed “Gratitude Walk” was graced by the Commissioner of Refugees, Apollo Kazungu, and other officials.
