With this ruling Kirumira is left with two options one being either to appeal against this ruling before the High court or full fill the bail conditions set by the police court.

Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court has dismissed an application seeking the unconditional release of former Buyende District Police Commander Muhammad Kirumira from police detention.Kirumira had also challenged his trial in the Police Disciplinary Court.

Grade One Magistrate Robert Mukanza ruled that his court lacks the jurisdiction to hear the petition or even interfere with the work of the Police Disciplinary Court which is legally established to discipline errant officers.

However, his lawyer Jude Mbabali and father Abubakar Kawooya who swore an affidavit questioning the police tribunal's authority to order for his son's detention have not been in court to receive this ruling.

The ruling was made in absences of Muhammed Kirumira’s lawyer Jude Mbabali and his father Abubakar Kawooya.

With this ruling Kirumira is left with two options one being either to appeal against this ruling before the High court or full fill the bail conditions set by the police court.

He is currently appearing before police tribunal on charges of professional misconduct and corruption.

And the last time he appeared before this same court this week he protested and walked out of the court of what he termed unfair bill conditions.
