The Head Master of the school Edward Kanoonya says the school has since declined in sport because their sports ground was taken over by Kampala parents school owned by businessman Sudhir Ruparalia.

Kololo Senior Secondary school established in 1954 is one of the traditional schools prominent in sports. The school has won several trophies in various sports activities.

But the Head Master of the school Edward Kanoonya says the school has since declined in sport because their sports ground was taken over by Kampala parents school owned by businessman Sudhir Ruparelia.

The tycoon appeared before the commission of inquiry into land matters to explain himself.

Sudhir defended himself before the commission saying that he was legally allocated the land by Uganda land commission which was then chaired by the late Joash Mayanja Nkangi.

Sudhir claimed that he plans to develop the field into a modern state of art sports facility to be used by his school Kampala Parents and Kololo SS students.

However, Kololo SS adduced evidence before the committee showing that they are the lawful sitting tenants of the playfield but ever since Sudhir acquired a title, the school has been denied access to the grounds.

The Bamugemereire commission has also established that the sports ground has since been partitioned into 16 plots to various developers and Nanjing Hotel is one of them.

Sudhir obtained a title of five years lease which expires in August this year but this has already been renewed for 99 years.

The commission chairperson Justice Catherine Bamugemereire cautioned Sudhir that he could lose the land since it was irregularly acquired.
