Teachers in Busoga trained in effective teaching methods

The recently released Primary Leaving Examination results for 2017 showed that pupils in Eastern Uganda, especially in Busia,  performed poorly.

Their poor performance was partly premised on poorly trained teachers. In a bid to improve pupils performance in PLE, Over 50 teachers were taken through an early grade reading programme where they are taught to impart knowledge through the local dialect

The Principal Jinja Primary Teachers college, Rev Anne Cherotwa, says the new technique of using the thematic curriculum will improve the performance of learners.
