President Yoweri Museveni has commended religious leaders who concentrate on promoting the prosperity and development of their people, the president Quoting the scriptures’ passage that says ‘we shall know them by their deeds’,
President Museveni observed that the extemporal works of the leadership of Rubindi Catholic Parish that targets the betterment of the lives of the people were clearly in the footsteps of the preaching and works that are aimed at the betterment and liberation of the poor and the disadvantaged.
“I love Christians whose teaching is in line with that of Jesus that emphasises honesty as opposed to hypocrisy. We should also preach forgiveness because Jesus even forgave those who crucified him and this has been manifested here,” he noted.
The President made the remarks while attending mass in Rubindi in Mbarara.
He congratulated the Parish priest for Rubindi catholic church, Reverend father Felix Bikwatsizehi for the work he has done in eliminating poverty through encouraging the congregation to engage in income-generating activities.
Father Bikwatsizehi also called on to the politicians avoid spreading hate speech against one another.
