Police have confirmed to NTV that they have started crosschecking with the army to find out if they are the ones holding Johnson Nuunu from Ntungamo who was kidnapped a week ago. Speaking to NTV, Emilian Kayima said police do not have the 60-year-old in their custody

The family of Johnson Nuunu is faced with a cloud of uncertainty about their father’s whereabouts. On Tuesday last week, Nuunu was kidnapped by unidentified people in the Rubare trading center and whisked to an unknown location. And since then, the family has been searching for him in vain.

Although there is a glimmer of hope that he could be found, police have confirmed that the father of 17 children is not in their custody. However, the police are trying to liaise with Uganda People’s Defense Forces to establish whether he is in their hands or not.

It is the first time the family is spending Christmas without their father Nuunu.

The family says that they will be perplexed to find out that their father was picked by security agencies in a manner that is similar to a kidnap.

The family says that they still have an option of taking the responsible authorities to court in search of justice.

The family of Nuunu claims their father has never been involved in politics.
