Uganda’s Ambassador to the UN Adonia Ayebare confirmed that Balungi garnered 81 votes in the 4th round of voting.
Ugandan Judge Solomy Balungi Bossa has been elected as a judge of the International Criminal Court.
Justice Balungi previously worked with the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda ((2003 – 2013)
She has previously served as a Judge of the Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court of Uganda and Judge of the African Court of Human and People’s Rights among others
Uganda’s Ambassador to the UN, Adonia Ayebare confirmed that Balungi garnered 81 votes in the 4th round of voting.
The 121 member states that are signatories to the Rome statute participated in the election.
