MPs argue that the rejection of tax exemption on their allowances will force them to consider increasing of their salaries since the constitution gives them the mandate.
Members of Parliament are vowing to return the controversial Income Tax Amendment Bill 2016, which exempts them from paying taxes on their allowancesto the floor of parliament .
On Monday, President Yoweri Museveni declined to sign the bill into law, saying the amendment by Parliament was not considerate of national development efforts risked undermining integrity of courts law and Parliament.
