Four people have been killed in two separate accidents on Kampala- Mityana highway. Police said three people died in the first incident while another was killed at the same spot later.
Both accidents happened near the village of Balisanga–Namabaale around 17km from Kampala.
The first accident happened around 11pm on Friday night when a Fuso truck (UAG 869U) collided with a Canter truck (UAQ 073D), which was carrying traders and their merchandise. Three people died on the spot and several others were rushed to Mulago hospital with serious injuries. The deceased have been identified as Mike Mugerwa of Gombe, Harriet Nalubowa and Sam Bisaso, both from Wakiso .
The second accident occured around 6AM on Saturday when a trailer (UAG 869U) rammed into the Fuso truck that had caused the earlier accident. One person, who has been identified as Aloysius Waggwa a resident of Kisamula village in Muduma subcounty, Mpigi district, died on the spot after being run over by the trailer.
All four bodies have been taken to the mortuary at Mpigi hospital.
