Human Rights Watch condemns police torture of suspects

Human Rights Watch researcher in Africa, Maria Burnett urged the police leadership to have the officers who committed the atrocities stripped of their ranks.

Global human rights organization Human Rights Watch  has condemned the torture of Kamwenge town council chairman Geoffrey Byamukama.

The Uganda Law Society has also demanded that the commanders of the police units accused of torture should be put on the spot since, in disciplined forces, juniors normally act on orders from their seniors.
