Kampala Capital City Authority no longer has control over the thousands of boda boda or commercial motor cycle riders who operate in the city and also doesn't collect any fees or taxes from them.

This revelation was made by Jennifer Musisi, the Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority while appearing before the Presidential Affairs Committee of Parliament.

She said the mandate to streamline and register the cyclists was taken over by the police due to security concerns. Musisi and other officials had appeared before the committee to explain their budgetary estimates for the 2017/2018 financial year.
