The Minister of Finance, Matia Kasaija, says the government will draft a policy on the payment of money to public officers who have carried out tasks that are deserving of financial rewards.
Kasaija told MPs on the committee on commissions statutory authorities and state enterprises that the policy will avoid a repeat of the scenario that saw 42 government officials get paid 6 billion shillings for settling a tax dispute between the govt and UK oil firm Heritage Oil and Gas limited.
Kasaija was making final submission to the parliamentary probe committee, which is winding down on Friday.
