Katureebe assured MPs that initiatives to ease backlog were beginning to bear fruit and the courts are performing much better compared to the last financial year.
The Chief Justice Bart Katureebe has reiterated that the judiciary is still grappling with the problem with case backlog, though they have devised innovative methods like plea bargaining, alternative dispute resolution to deal with the problem.
The Chief Justice, who was meeting MPs on the legal and Parliamentary affairs committee, said these initiatives were beginning to bear fruit and the courts are performing much better compared to the last financial year.
